Marriage Horror Stories - True Story of Fallen Manby Pralay "Man gets married, man lives happily ever after". Sounds simple but many people have trouble obtaining this. For some, the mantra is "man gets married, man's life goes to hell". Pardon my language... but let me tell you a true story of someone I know and then you will feel my frustration. Background There was indo-fijian gentleman here named Rakesh in the United States that I was an acquaintance of. I was not particularly buddy buddy with him because he was about 10 years older but his mother was very good friends with my mother. Ever since I was aware of him, he was always so close to his mother. I always wondered how a man as old as he was could be so close to his mother. They lived together and went everywhere together. He had a decent technical job and was ready to get married. He relocated to the Sacramento area and bought a house. With the house and job, it was natural for him to start considering marriage. How Marriage Started The process started and he was paired up with an Indo-Fijian born in the United States. The prospective bride said that she did not want the mother to live with them at all. Rakesh told her that the marriage was off. He loved his mother and did not want to accept another woman in his life that cannot accept his mother. A couple of months later, the prospective bride changed her mind. Because of her apologies, Rakesh took her back. After the Marriage They got married and his life soon turned for the worst.
Recent Developments Last week, he came by our city looking for his mother. He tried everybody, inluding my mother, but very few people were even aware of what had happened. My mom later got in touch with Rakesh's mother. His mother asked my mom to promise that she would never tell Rakesh where and with whom she was staying. I just wonder what could have happened that Rakesh's own mother does not want her son. But sometimes marriages can turn out for the worst. Personal Addendum I do not mean to talk so negatively of marriage because I believe a happy union between two people is a blessing of God. But when a woman sets a precedence for wanting to break up your family then it is your right and duty to stop the marriage before it is commenced. According to my beliefs, a divorce should be one's last option but that is if you took the appropriate actions before marriage.
