Indian Cooking Recipe : Date Cake

Ingredients for the Recipe

1 ½ cup plain flour
½ cup milk
100 gms butter
1¼ cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup dates, pitted and chopped
1 cup boiling water
½ cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder

Recipe (How to Make Easy):

Preheat oven to 350º
Add dates, baking soda and baking powder to the boiling water.
Allow it to cool. Sift flour. Beat egg.
Cream butter and sugar
Add egg to the butter and sugar mixture
Add flour and date mixture to the butter, sugar and egg.
Add milk and 1/2 the walnuts
Bake in a 20 cm round tin for 60 mins at the 350ºF
Remove and let it cool on a cooling cake rack.
Put the remaining walnuts on the top for decoration.
