Pheerni Noodles

Pheerni is also another name for rice based pudding, very popular in North India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, etc. Phirni is nothing but rice kheer, a delicacy in almost all over India and many regions of south east asia.

Rice Kheer is a delicious concoction of rice, sugar and milk. It is called in various names such as Kheer, Payasam, Payasa, etc. Firni may be made using seviyaan or vermicelli, a noodle like substance. Seviyaan is associated with the muslim festival of Id Ul-Fitr. During this festival, seviyan is prepared at home and served to the guests with warmth and gusto.

Method of preparation of pheerni is very much similar to rice kheer. How to Make Easy it:

  1. All you require is half ltr whole milk, 50 grams seviyan, some raisins and nuts, 1/2 tin condensed milk, 1 tbsp ghee and 1/4 tsp cardamom powder.
  2. Fry the seviayaan in ghee till they give a light brown color.
  3. Now add boiling milk, nuts, raisins, cardamom powder and condensed milk. Let it cook for 3 min's.
  4. Serve hot or chilled.
