Ladoo Milk Flour

Ladoo .is the name given to a variety of sweets eaten all over India with round shapes. Laddoo's are very closely associated with festivals and weddings. They are an inherent part of the  Hindu mythology. Lord Ganesha is known to have a great delight for laddus. Laddu is also the most favored item to be given as offering to Hindu gods. It is a very common Prasad item too.

Laddus are basically made of different types of flour, rolled into balls and dipped in sugar syrup. They are garnished with a variety of nuts and raisins.

Some famous laddus are Motichur laddu, Besan laddu , Til laddu, Coconut laddu, Sooji laddu, Tirupati  laddu, etc..

Motichoor Laddus originate from a small town called Maner in Bihar. Motichur Laddus are associated with marriages in India and it is believed to be auspicious to serve them in weddings. They are made from fried gram flour flake, sugar and raisins. Besan laddus are a favorite household dish made from gram flour or besan and sugar. It is said that these are Lord Ganesha's favorite laddus. Til Laddu is a black colored laddu made of til seeds, very famous in bengal. Coconut Laddu is a delicacy from the southern states, and is similar to coconut burfi. Sooji laddu is made from rava or sooji(semolina), sugar and ghee.  Tirupati Laddus are a prashad item prepared in the famous temple of Tirumala, in Andhra Pradesh. It is made of bundi, ghee and sugar.
