Dharwad Peda Burfi

Dharwad Peda is a type of peda that is the speciality of the town of Dharwad in the southern state of Karnataka. It is a brown colored sweet made from milk and sugar. It is available in the the form of flattened balls.

Dharwad peda is synonymous with sweets in Karnataka. Recently, steps are being taken to brand Dharwad Peda and not allow outside manufacturers to use the name. Dharwad peda is an integral part of the cuisine of karnataka. It is very common practice to offer the pedas to guests. Dharwad peda and another sweet from Karnataka called Mysore Pak are famous not only in the state but throughout India.
