It is also served dry unlike rasgolla, which is served along with the sugary water. Cham cham is very sweet to taste. It is one of the most loved sweets in West Bengal, second only to rasgulla and shondesh. Cham cham can be purchased from any sweetmeat shop in India. It is a common item for serving the guests during festivals and marriages. Cham cham is prepared by making a smooth dough of the chenna extracted by curdling the milk. The dough is then mixed with flour and small balls are made out of it. Next, the balls are dropped into a sugar water syrup and pressure cooked for 10-12 minutes. The chom choms are then garnished with nuts and whipped cream and served chilled.
