Quick Indian SnacksThe Indian cuisine has rich array of snacks. The Indian snacks are usually delicious and mouth watering. Many of these are comparatively lower in fat than most western appetizers. Indian snacks are quick to prepare, tasty, spicy and eaten as a tea snack or in the evening. Many of them make a perfect side-dish. The essence of Indian snacks lie in the aroma of the spices blended together and added to enhance the flavor of the snack. Each region has its unique flavor depending on the type of spices used. Snacks are found in all parts of India, each state having its own specialty. Savories like samosas, aloo tikki, pao bhaaji, chaat, pakoda, bhajia, bhelpuri etc. are commonly served in India and are popular all over the country. There are regional dishes too that are popular in that region. Vada sambar, vada pao, banana chips, bonda, etc are very popular in the southern states. Bhelpuri, tikki, chole bhature, chaat, etc are famous in North India. Chakli, Pao Bhaji, Pohe, Dhokla, etc are specialties of the western states of Maharashtra and Gujrat. Ghugni is a very popular snack in the eastern states of West Bengal, Orissa, Biharand Assam.
