Here, patra hindi for colocasia leaf. It is a delicious dish and is often served as a side dish or appetizer. To make patra or colocasia leaf rolls, you will require colacasia leaves, 150 gm gram wheat flour, 100 gm tamarind, 20 gm chilli powder, 5 gm turmeric powder, 2 gm asafoetida, 20 gm sugar, 2 gm roasted cumin seeds, 20 ml oil, 5 gm mustard seeds, 25 gm coriander seeds, 75 gm grated coconut and 10 gm sesame seeds, and salt according to taste. Chop the coriander leaves and grate the coconut. Rinse the colacasia leaves thoroughly in water. Mix the ingredients to make a thick batter. Place colacasia leaves on a flat board and spread some of the batter on top of each one. Now place another leaf on top of these. Again apply the batter on it. Fold the sides of the leaf and roll them. Now steam the rolls for 30 minutes. After the time is over, remove and cut them into a number of slices. Heat the cooking oil and fry the mustard seeds till they stop to crackle. Add sesame, coriander leaves and coconut. Pour this simmering mixture on the sliced patra rolls. Serve hot with coconut chutney.
