Fanta is a popular soft drink brand owned by The Coca-Cola Company.

Fanta was originally invented during World War II in Nazi Germany by the German Coca Cola bottling company. During the war, the German bottling plant was unable to get Coca Cola syrup due to shipping restrictions between Nazi Germany and the United States. The CEO of the plant, Max Keith came up with a fruit flavored drink made from whatever he could find. Using apple fiber left over from cider presses and whey, a byproduct of cheese manufacturing, Fanta was created and became quite popular in Germany.

Internationally, Fanta drink of The Coca-Cola Company, is one of the favorite drinks since 1940's. Fanta entered the Indian market in 1993. Over the years Fanta has occupied a strong market place in the orange flavored drink category. It is marketed by the company as "Fun Catalyst" and associated with "happy, cheerful and special times with friends".

Although there are over 70 flavors of fanta world-wide, only Orange and Pineapple flavors are available in India.

The formulation of the Orange Fanta is made of Carbonated water, high fructose corn syrup and sucrose, citric acid, sucrose acetate isobutyrate, sodium polyphosphates, sodium benzoate, modified food starch, natural and artificial flavors, coconut oil, yellow 6, vegetable oil, ascorbic acid, red 40 and dioctyl sodium sulfosuccinate.
