Bonda Snack balls Potatoes gram flour

Bonda is among the most famous South Indian snacks. Bonda can be oftwo types. It could be eitherSweet or Spicy. The sweet one is generally preferred in Kerela. The salty one is more common in rest of india. Bonda snack is also called 'batata vada' in the Maharashtra . Making the dish spicy and crunchy involves frying the potatoes for long time (we can use some other vegetables also instead ), dipping it in gram flour batter, and deep frying it.

We present a common aalu bonda recipe here.

Take some big potatoes. Boil them and mash them properly. Take some green chilli and chop them. Chop some coriander leaves. Get a cup of gram flour, salt and redchilli, garam masala and turmeric powder and some oil to fry .

Add some salt, garam masala, chili powder, green chopped chilies and coriander leaves to mashed potatoes. Mix everything very well. Take some gram flour in a bowl and add turmeric powder in it.add salt and chili to it. Put some water in it and make a loose batter. Roll the mashed into balls and dip them into the batter.

Heat some oil in frying pan and add balls of potatoes in it. Fry till they are golden in color. Serve hot with mint-coriander chutney.
