The Central Library of IITK is the first in the country to register for the Internet service through the ERNET project. It is equipped with high-speed servers and multimedia computers interconnected through Ethernet subnets. The automated library uses computerization for circulation of books and browsing of some journals. The entire book collection is bar-coded. In-house functions like acquisition, cataloging and circulation are automated using the LibSys automation software.
