Tiruppur Kumaran College for Women, Tiruppur is affiliated to Bharathiar University. It was established in the year 1996. it offers undergraduate and postgraduate study programs in many disciplines. Some of the programs are aided by the University, while some are self-financed.
The college offers undergraduate programs and postgraduate programs. The UG programs offered are B.Com, B.Com CA, B.Sc - Computer Science, Microbiology, BCA, BBM, and BA - Co-operation. The PG programs offered are Masters in International Business and M.Com. The college imparts character-building education. This has been made possible by giving value education at the undergraduate level itself. During the first year, the college also offers one course in computer awareness to all the undergraduate students of non-computer streams.
NSS and NCC are compulsory components of all the undergraduate students (both aided and self-financing courses). The extension services of the College's departments serve the rural masses in different ways. The Community Polytechnic Scheme (CPS) acts as a nodal point to promote scientific and technological applications in rural areas, and to provide non-formal technical training for self and wage employment with minimum additional manpower and financial input. The scheme is supported by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India. The technical manpower of the Polytechnic is harnessed for implementing the scheme.
The college has strong Alumni which forms a vital component of the Institution. Efforts are underway to consolidate the details of all the former students and utilize their services for the welfare of the college and society.
