The Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering, Chennai (DCE) is the sister concern of the Indian Institute of Professional Education (IIPE). The Dhanalakshmi College of Engineering was established during 2001-2002 and has been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi. It is affiliated by Anna University. The college owes its existence to Dr. V.P. Ramamurthy, Ph.D, who is an alumnus and faculty member of Anna University.
The College houses separate blocks for Humanities and Sciences, Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, besides a modernized auditorium, spacious Library and seminar halls in each block to impart quality technical education. The students association, ACSIT conducts various seminars and workshops in order to improve the skill set of the students.
The DCE has a well furnished library with a collection of more than 8000 books to meet the requirements, as per the latest syllabus of Anna University. It subscribes to a large number of dailies and journals, both national and international in various subjects. The Campus Workshop consists of carpentry section, fitting section, welding section, smithy section, foundry section and sheet metal section with tools such as bench drilling machine, foundry equipments, sheet metal tools, grinding machine etc. The College has integrated Campus Software. This is a unique facility under which information relating to students such as their personal bio-data, admission, fees, day to day attendance taken through swiping of smart cards. Reports are generated to monitor attendance and progress in studies using this software.
