Bishop Ambrose College is situated in Ramanathapuram, Tamil Nadu. It has been approved by the State Government and is affiliated to Bharathiar University. The college is being managed by The Coimbatore Diocese. The Coimbatore Diocese has many educational institutions under its control, which include three colleges and many higher secondary and high schools, catering to the needs of thousands of students. The college was established in the year 1997 and falls under the category of Self-Financing Co - Educational Institutions.
Courses offered are B. Sc Computer Science, B.B.M( Business Management), B.Com (Commerce), B.C.S(Corporate Secretaryship), B.C.A (Computer Applications), B.Com (Computer Applications), B.A. (English Lang.& Literature), B.Sc. (Mathematics), and M.Com (Computer Applications). The Governing Body has resolved to offer more courses both at under graduate and postgraduate levels from the academic year 2001-2002.
The College Library's collection includes more than 15000 volumes, including books, serials, microforms, videos and compact discs. The Library subscribes to over 725 serial publications annually. Public access computer terminals provide access to the collections of the local libraries. The Library Special Collections & Archives contains materials related to the history of the college, including yearbooks, school newspapers, photographs, faculty theses, faculty & alumni publications, collective works of retired faculty, and other works related to the Catholic faith.
The Student Activities office supports the educational goals and mission of the college by promoting a sense of self-worth and self-confidence through campus involvement. Activities improve the quality of campus life while offering student leadership opportunities to assist in personal development.
