Konark Institute of Science & Technology (KIST) was set up by the Vidya Sagar Charitable Trust in the year 2001. All India Council of Technical Education accorded approval for all the Engineering courses of this college. The college has also obtained the permission of the Government of Orissa, and is duly affiliated to Biju Pattnaik University of Technology. The management has proven record of excellence in techno-education, the latest venture being a Medical College along with a super-specialty hospital at Bhubaneswar, better known as Hi-tech Medical College & Hospital.
The institute offers undergraduate engineering degree courses in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. Admission to all the programs is done as per the regulations of the Government. An aspirant needs to have a rank either from JEE (O), AIEEE or CET (conducted by Orissa Private Engineering College Association).
The institute has a Library complex where students can access abundant stock of books and journals. Services provided to the users include, Current Awareness Service (CAS), Reference Service, Documentation Service, Reprographic Service, Digital Library and Web Library. The library is also equipped with digital facilities having reference CDs, abridged version of encyclopedia Britannica and so on. The Information and Communication Technology Center enables easy campus networking.
KIST Career extends career guidance to the students. One-to-one discussions with students are held to evaluate their own strengths. Career counseling is done to develop certain computing and other skills based on the requirements of potential industries and institutions for recruitment.
