Institute of Technical Education and Research is located in Bhubaneswar. It was established in 1995 to promote education, research, training and development in engineering, management, computer applications, medical and dental sciences, pharmacy, and nursing and hospitality management. It is run by the Sikshya ‘O’ Anusandhan, a charitable educational society promoted by educationists and professionals.
The institute offers the following undergraduate and postgraduate programs: Applied Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Sciences and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering, Information Technology, and Mechanical Engineering. All India Council for Technical Education has approved the institute and Biju Patnaik University of Technology, Rourkela affiliates the various courses.
The central library occupies one entire wing of the institute building. The journal Section and the reading room are the new facilities. The institution subscribes to 126 National and international journals and magazines in the field, of engineering, technology and science. At present the central library has a total of 42323 volumes. Computerized central library subscribes 250 international e-journals under AICTE scheme. Hostel accommodation is available both for men and women students.
The students also take part in various extra-curricular activities like sports and debating. The placement activity is entirely managed by the students under the guidance of Senior Professors. Many different organizations entertain the students for Summer Training. Companies like Satyam, Infosys, IBM, TVS Motors, HCL Technology, Mahindra Tech, Birla Tech, Larson and Toubro Infotech, Accenture, Integra, and HP visit the campus for recruitments. The Placement Cell invites various companies for presentations every year during the recruitment sessions.
