DAV College is located in Titilagarh, Orissa. It was established in the year 1968. The college is run by the DAV College Trust and Management Society, which is the largest non-governmental educational organization in India managing a chain of 667 institutions. The society has, as its alumni, distinguished jurists, diplomats, doctors, engineers, scientists, educationists, literary figures and sportsmen. It has been running for more than a hundred years.
The college is popular among students seeking admission to undergraduate and postgraduate programs in Arts, Commerce and Science. The various disciplines of study that are offered are English, Psychology, Public Administration, Medicine, Biotechnology, Sociology, Commerce, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Zoology, and Bioinformatics. In addition, Diploma and Certificate courses are offered in the fields of Business Management, Mass Communication, and Personnel Management. Students are admitted to the college on the basis of merit and an interview conducted by the Admission Committee.
The college is known for the emphasis it lays on NCC training. All the three wings exist in the college. Students can join one of these wings depending on their aptitude and physical fitness. They are also prepared for Regular commission in the Army, Navy and Air Force. The college also has a Dramatic Club, a Music Club, Audio-Visual Society, a Fine Arts Club, a Hiking Club and a Photography Club. Debates, Paper-Reading contests and Declamations are organized regularly. Other student organizations include The History Association, the Young Speakers' Association, the Planning Forum, the Political Thinkers Forum, the Geographical Association, the Science Associations, the Bose Biological Association, and the Literary Society.
