	Vimal Jyothi Engineering College
Vimal Jyothi Engineering College is located in Chemperi, Kerala. It is one of the self financing engineering colleges sanctioned by the All India Council for Technical Education in 2002.The college is affiliated to Kannur University. The college is an educational Project of Archdiocese of Thalassery and is managed by the Meshar Diocesan Educational Trust, Archbishop's House, Thalassery.

The college imparts instruction at the undergraduate level in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Applied Electronics & Instrumentation, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering. The intake in each of these disciplines is 60, of which 50% of the seats are based on the selection procedure of The Commissioner of Entrance Examination; the remaining 50% is by the management. The college is also approved for Lateral Entry Scheme which is meant to admit Diploma holders to second year (3rd Semester) based on the guidelines fixed by the Government. Each branch of engineering can admit 6 candidates under this provision.

The resource material of the library consists of more than 7000 books under 3350 titles, 50 national and interna­tional journals, one e-database, project re­ports and seminar reports. During the year 2005 alone, it added 3000 books and 10 new journals. All library services like acquisition, cataloguing, issue, return, catalogue search (OPAC) have been fully computerized.

The college has an active training and placement cell. Most of the students get jobs in topmost software companies like Wipro, Infosys, Satyam computers, U.S software etc. Several training programs by professionals are organized to improve the communication skills and personality development of students.
