University College of Engineering

The University College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram, is a direct undertaking of the University of Kerala. The College itself was established in the year 2000 and started functioning in the Kariavattom Campus. The campus lies adjacent to the Techno Park, where a large number of national and international software companies are functioning. The Institution is fast acquiring a reputation for high quality education.

4 year Bachelor of technology (B.Tech) Degree courses are offered in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, and Information Technology. The annual intake in each branch is 40 students. All the courses have been approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the college is affiliated to the University of Kerala, Thiruvananthapuram.

The college library boasts of a large number of technical books and subscribes to a wide range of leading journals and magazines. The Central library has nearly 6000 Volumes of books, including 1200 reference books. There are 3 computer labs (Internet Lab, Multimedia lab Lab, Network Lab). Each lab is equipped with 30 machines. Internet facility is available through the optical fiber network in the campus.

The Training and Placement Unit establishes strong relations with employers for recruitment, which includes on campus interview, job listing and other means of recruitment. It conducts trial tests and mock interviews for the students. Students with questions concerning their career direction have easy access to the T&P professional for counseling. Companies like Accenture, Mindtree Consulting, Wipro Technologies, L&T Infotech, and NeST Technologies frequently visit the campus.
