Travancore Engineering College

Travancore Engineering College is approved by AICTE and affiliated to the University of Kerala. The college is located at Roadvila, near Kollam. The college is managed by the Travancore Education Society. The college started in the year 2002-2003 in the permanent campus. Undergraduate courses are offered in: Electronic & Communication Engineering (60Seats), Electrical & Electronics Engineering (60Seats), and Computer Science & Engineering (60Seats). There is a proposal to start undergraduate course from Kerala University in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

The College Library has more than 4500 books of various topics in different branches of Engineering, Science and Technology. There are over 100 CD ROMs. The reading rooms subscribe to a number of national and international journals, magazines and periodicals. The library will be computerized soon with a separate digital library and staff resource center. The college runs separate hostels for boys and girls. Bus facility is provided to neighboring towns by the college.

Special importance is given to equip the students in language skills, social science, sports, and NSS camps. Special leadership training programs, seminars and symposia are organized, with a view to prepare students for competitive exams. The Department of Physical Education provides facilities for football, volleyball, cricket, badminton etc. There is a separate mini stadium to conduct athletic activities. The college regularly conducts Yoga classes for students, in order to help them relax from their academic pressures. Work is in progress for the basketball court, indoor table tennis board and Gymnasium hall.
