Thrissur Kannur University Academy of Medical  Sciences

Thrissur Kannur University Academy of Medical Sciences is situated in Pariyaram, Kerala. It functions on a no-profit no-loss basis, and is being controlled by the Kerala State Co-operative Hospital Complex and Centre for Advanced Medical Services (KCHC). Academy of Medical Sciences (ACME) is the first self-financing medical college under co-operative sector in the country. This medical college has full accreditation of Indian Medical Council. It started its first batch of MBBS students in 1995.

This institution of excellence offers a string of medical courses like MBBS, BDS, BPharm, BSc. Nursing, GNM Nursing, and a number of paramedical courses. The admission to MBBS is based on the merit list of the CET, conducted by the State Government. 15 seats are reserved for NRI students. National Board of Examinations has accredited the Institution for DNB courses, while Kannur University has accredited ACME as a research centre for PhD students. The institution is also embarking on plans to offer various post graduate courses in the field of medicine and allied subjects.

Attached to the medical college is a 1000 bedded Hospital complex. It has more than 20 specialties and six super specialty departments, manned by very competent experienced medical professionals. In addition, this college provides educational facility in the field of Dentistry, Pharmacy and Nursing. The Nursing School has collaborated with Salt Lake Community College, USA, which provides international exposure and job opportunities for students. The Pariyaram Dental College is affiliated to Kannur University and is approved by the Dental Council of India.
