St.Joseph’s College of Engineering & Tech

St. Joseph’s College of Engineering & Technology is situated in Palai, Kottayam. It was established in 2002 by the Diocese of Palai. SJCET is one among the top 11 engineering colleges in Kerala. SJCET has been given the highest rating by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) among the colleges in Kerala, for commitment to total quality and continuous improvement in all activities. It is managed by the Diocesan Technical Education Trust, Palai under the Diocese of Palai.

The college offers 4 year (8 semesters) B.Tech courses in the following branches: Electronics and Communication, Computer Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation. Those seeking admission should have a minimum of 50 % marks for Mathematics and for Physics and Chemistry put together.

The college has adequate infrastructure. There are two Men's Hostels, one with 300 seats and the other with 126 seats. The Ladies Hostel can accommodate 208 students. An auditorium cum multi-purpose building was recently opened. A modern, well furnished Computer Centre with necessary accessories is available.  An Internet Lab and two other computer labs are also available. The library has more than 10,500 books, 750 CDs, international as well as national journals in various disciplines.

Training institutions such as NIIT, TIME, and Escube Technologies conduct seminars at the college to inform the students on the training courses they offer. The Placement Cell members visit Bangalore, Trivandrum and Kochi to invite firms in the software development, electronic hardware manufacture and engineering fields to their campus.
