	Shahul Hameed Memorial Engineering College
Shahul Hameed Memorial Engineering College is situated in a picturesque spot in the hilly town of Kadakkal. The college is self financed and has got approvals from AICTE, Government of Kerala, and the University of Kerala. The college is a project of Kadakkal Educational Trust. It was established in 2002.

Presently the college offers basic degree (B.Tech) in the following disciplines of engineering: Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Information Technology. All the departments have 60 seats each. 50% of the seats are filled up by the management, while the remaining 50% are filled up from the list of candidates supplied by the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations. More courses based on recent trends in Engineering, Technology and Management education in collaboration with foreign universities are on the anvil.

A fully equipped workshop with different sections such as Smithy, Fitting, Sheet metal, Foundry, Carpentry, and Plumbing is provided. Adequate tools, workbenches and supporting machines are available in the workshop with well-qualified instructors and supporting staff. The computer lab has 60 nodes with latest Pentium processors. The laboratory is equipped with sufficient number of required. Internet connection is also available for students.

There are 4 technical associations in the college: ESPRIT, Faraday's Club, SEA.COM and CBIT. These associations organize class seminars and workshops. The objective of these associations is to bring together all students and to work together in academic and extra-curricular activities. They provide information to students about various entrance examinations like GRE, GATE, and GMAT.
