SCT College of Engineering Pappanamcode

Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering is situated in Pappanamcode, Thiruvananthapuram. It was established as an unaided self-financing engineering college in 1995-96 by Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC). The college is being administered and managed by KSRTC and Sree Chitra Thirunal College of Engineering Society. The college is approved by AICTE. It is the only college in India to be accredited by the National Board of Accreditation and ISO Certification within a short span of time. SCTCE also has the privilege of being one of the top seven colleges in the state aided under the world bank funded Technical Education Quality Improvement Program (TEQIP). The college is affiliated to Kerala University.

Extensive links with the research institutes and industries (VSSC, ER&DCI, TECHNOPARK, and IISc) has enabled SCT to maintain the vocational and practical bias to its courses. The college offers seven bachelors degree courses with well-equipped laboratories for all branches. The courses offered are: B. Tech - Electronics and Communication Engineering, B. Tech - Computer Science and Engineering, B. Tech - Information Technology, B. Tech - Mechanical Engineering, B. Tech - Mechanical: Automobile Engineering, B. Tech - Mechanical: Production Engineering, and B. Tech – Biotechnology.

The library has well-catalogued collection that presently contains over 25000 volumes and 52 technical journals and magazines. The college has a well equipped, state of the art central computing facility accessible to students and the faculty. Presently, the centre is equipped with a LAN system with 100 terminals. A Career Guidance Cell handles recruitment activities. It also gives appropriate orientation to students in their career planning.
