Over the next few years, infrastructural improvements were made. Hostels for men and women, a Nursing College, a Dental College, a Pharmacy College, a Regional Cancer Centre, an Artificial Limb Centre, and residential quarters for the staff were developed in the campus. The Priyadarsini Institute of Para Medical Sciences was also established. In addition to MBBS course, Postgraduate degree and diploma courses (22 specialties), super-specialty courses (10 specialties), BSc. Nursing, B Pharm, para medical courses, Diploma in Pharmacy course etc. are conducted in this institution. The students of this institution have made a name for themselves both within the country and abroad. The faculty members show keen interest in research programs. The college also conducts a number of community oriented projects. One of them is The Department of Preventive and Social Medicine, which is situated in Trivandrum. It provides training to students in community medicine, and it was the first of its kind in the country. It gives proper exposure to the students about community life in villages.
