Marian Engineering College

Marian Engineering College, located in Trivandrum, was established in 2001. It is one of the pioneering institutes for engineering studies in Kerala. The college, which is affiliated to the University of Kerala, has emerged a leader in the self-financing sector. The college is being managed by the Trivandrum Social Service Society, which consists of educationalists and professionals. The institution is under the control of Trivandrum Latin Catholic Arch Diocese.

Marian Engineering College offers four year (8 semesters) B. Tech degree courses in the following branches: Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Applied Electronics and Instrumentation. 50% of the seats in a branch are filled up by the Government through the Commissioner for Entrance Examination, while the rest are filled up by the Management as per Government directives.

The college library has regular subscription of more than 60 national and international journals and periodicals. The college also provides e-library facility to the students. The students can effectively utilize 250 CD’s on various topics. Separate well-equipped hostel facilities are provided for boys and girls. Elaborate arrangements for extra curricular activities including sports and games, arts and culture have been made.

The Career Guidance placement Unit organizes Logical Ability Tests, Communications Skills Enhancement Programs, Group Discussions, Personality Development Programs, career guidance sessions, mock interviews, and debates. The unit has helped in the placement of nearly 40 students in reputed multinational firms, which is a great achievement. The college also runs an active parent-teacher association.
