Mar Athanasius College of Engineering is located in Kothamangalam, Ernakulam, Kerala. It is one of the premier Engineering Colleges in the state. It was established in 1961 and is a Government AICTE approved institute. The college is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University and accredited by National Board of Accreditation.

The college offers Bachelor of Technology Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics & Communication, and Computer Science); Master of Technology Degree in Computer Aided Structural Engineering (Civil), Production & Industrial Engineering (Mechanical), and Master of Computer Applications Degree. 85 % seats are merit seats according to state government rules, while 15% are management seats from state entrance rank list. In order to be eligible for undergraduate degree courses, candidates must pass +2 with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics as core subjects, with minimum 50% marks in Mathematics. They must also appear in the All Kerala Engineering Entrance Examination.

The college has developed excellent facilities and resources such as spacious classrooms, seminar halls, well-equipped laboratories, workshops, well-stocked libraries, and dedicated Internet connectivity. There are six academic departments, with more than 100 well-qualified teaching staff. The combined student intake every year is 500.

A Parent Teacher Association (PTA) works closely with the college administration in order to ensure the efficient functioning of the college. PTA helps the parents to take part in the progress, character building, and placement of their wards. The PTA holds regular meetings and takes keen interest in all activities related to the development of personality and communication skill development of students.
