LBS Institute of Tech for Women

L.B.S. Institute of Technology for Women is situated in Poojappura, Thiruvananthapuram. It is affiliated to the University of Kerala, but is not aided by the university. It s the second self financing Engineering College managed by LBS Centre for Science and Technology, Trivandrum. The LBSITW began functioning during the academic year 2001-02.

The college offers the following programs: B.Tech Electronics & Communication Engineering, B.Tech Applied Electronics and Instrumentation, B.Tech Computer Science & Engineering, and B.Tech Information Technology. There are 60 seats in all the branches. Selection of the students is based on their ranks in the entrance test conducted by the Controller of Entrance Examinations, Govt. of Kerala. 50% allotment of the seats is done by Controller of Entrance Examinations, while the rest are filled by the management.

The college has a fully computerized central library. The library subscribes to total of 55 periodicals and 18 international journals. Reference material in removable media like CD ROMs and floppies is also available. The library has high-speed Internet access, and an institutional membership with the British library. However, LBSITW has no hostel facilities in the campus now. At present, it has arrangements with prominent private hostels in the vicinity for accommodating students.
