Jyothi Engineering College is located in Vettikattiri, in Thrissur district of Kerala. The college is affiliated to All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the University of Calicut.
The college offers four year undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering. The intake per year is 60 students in each branch. There are State merit seats and Management and NRI quota seats, as per Kerala Government rules. It is essential for candidates to pass Higher Secondary examination, Kerala or examinations recognized equivalent, with 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics put together. Candidates must also acquire a rank in the Entrance examination conducted by Commissioner for entrance examinations.
The Campus contains various facilities like the men’s and ladies’ hostel, an extension counter of the Federal Bank, a co-operative store to cater the needs of the students, a canteen, and a gymnasium. There is also an indoor recreation centre which includes table tennis, carom boards and a television. Facilities for football, cricket, badminton and volleyball are provided. All classrooms are provided with overhead projectors, while seminar hall is provided with an LCD projector. The computer lab is equipped with 256kbps dedicated leased line internet connection.
The college conducts an educational tour every year. This helps in industry-institute interaction. The college has established an online parents’ forum, where they can interact with the college to be updated on the progress of the child as well as the institution |
