Federal Institute of Science & Technology (FISAT) is a self financing institution. It is established and managed by the Federal Bank Officers Association Educational Society (FBOAES). The institute is set up at Mookannoor, near Angamaly in Ernakulam district of Kerala. It is affiliated to Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
The institution offers undergraduate degree programs in Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. Postgraduate programs are offered in the form of Master of Computer Applications and Master of Business Administration (MBA).for selection to the undergraduate courses, candidates require a good score in Management Aptitude Test (MAT) conducted by AIMA. 50% of the total seats are government quota seats; they are filled up by the Commissioner of Entrance Examinations (CEE), Kerala.
FISAT Library & Information Centre has a collection of around 16000 books under 4000 different titles. The collection includes books, periodicals, DVDs, CD-ROMs, and other reading materials. The computer centre is fully equipped with nearly 330 Pentium IV computers in various labs. A web-based service acts as an interactive tool for parents, teacher, students for information exchange. Hostel for boys and girls with all amenities have been provided inside the college campus.
The Placement and training cell has been one of the most successful departments in FISAT. It conducts regular training for improving the soft-skills, organizes talks by invited experts from the industry, and conducts regular tests, group discussions and mock interviews. |
