Engineering College, Munnar

College of Engineering, Munnar (CEM), is a premier institute promoted by the Center for Continuing Education, a Government of Kerala undertaking. The CEM campus is housed at the heart of Munnar town, a hillock retreat, better known as the Darjeeling of the South. The institute offers a world class work environment for students, faculty and supporting staff. The institution is approved by All India Council for Technical Education and is a recognized institution of Cochin University of Science and Technology.

The college has offers undergraduate courses with an annual intake of 60 each per faculty. The courses are offered in the disciplines of Electronics & Communication Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, and Electrical & Electronics Engineering. The curriculum requirement of B.Tech degree consists of a period of 4 academic years. The first two semesters are combined together as first year, and the remaining three years are split into 6 semesters. The college is fairly strict about attendance. Every candidate is required to secure a minimum of 75% attendance to be eligible for appearing for the University examinations.

The Central Computing Facility has advanced computing facilities with technologies to train manpower in the field of Programming languages, Data Processing and Computer networks.  Internet access is provided through 2 x 128kbps ISDN line. The Central Library has about 8500 volumes and 2500 titles of various latest editions of books, magazines, and CD-ROMs. An Industry - Institution cell helps facilitate collaboration of the institution with the neighboring industrial establishments. Continuing education programs for working professionals are also arranged.
