College of Engineering , Thiruvananthapuram

The College of Engineering, Thiruvananthapuram was established in 1939 is one of the oldest as well as largest engineering colleges in the country and is a premier technical institution in the State. Other than IITs, this college is rated as one among the top ten engineering colleges in India. It is generally believed to be the best engineering institution in Kerala. The institute is famous for the quality of its graduates, and the number of top jobs held by its graduates in various Central Government and other prime services.

The college has eight full-fledged departments offering undergraduate, postgraduate and Doctoral Programs under the University of Kerala. Part-time B.Tech, M.Tech. and MBA courses are also offered. Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs are offered in Civil Engineering, Electrical& Electronics Engineering, Electronics& Communication Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering and Applied Electronics. The college also offers an MBA program.

The college library has over 50, 000 books. The Central Computer Facility has one twenty nodes and five graphic workstations for use by the students. The Centre has all the software required for engineering and scientific applications. The college has hostels for both men and women. Men’s hostel can accommodate about 550 students, while the women’s hostel can accommodate about 300 students.

A Career Guidance & Placement Unit arranges campus interviews. The Indian Society for Technical Education (ISTE) conducts workshops for career development, personality development, communication skill development, and aptitude. The ISTE has a spoken English training facility, which is open for both faculty and students.
