College of Engineering , Chengannur

College of Engineering Chengannur, (CEC), is one of the premier undergraduate engineering institutes in the state of Kerala. The college is affiliated to the Cochin University of Science and Technology, Kochi. It was established in the year 1992 by the Institute of Human Resources Development. It offers undergraduate courses, leading to the award of B.Tech degrees. The college is located at Chengannur, a town in the heart of Travancore, Kerala.

Currently, there are two branches of Engineering in the institution: Electronics & Communication, and Computer Science. A Post Graduate Diploma in Computer Applications (PGDCA) of one year duration is also offered. An intake of 90 into each branch every year implies 900 students in four semesters at any given time.

The college has the entire necessary infrastructure. The College Library is automated with a wide collection of the latest books, periodicals and CDs. This collection is expanded and updated each year. The open access system provides reading and reference facilities for faculty and students. A combination of online and offline information resources are offered. Through the Book Bank System, the students are entitled to get a book for an entire semester. The hostels are maintained in a harmonious environment. A Health Club & gymnasium loaded with modern exercise equipments has been provided. The college also maintains a well equipped health club and yoga centre with trained staff.

The college promotes and organizes many industrial visits. Various technical and non-technical forums have been established to provide opportunities to students to share ideas, develop leadership skills, and network with others.
