	College of Dairy Science
College of Dairy Science and Technology is located in Mannuthy, in Thrissur district of Kerala. The college is affiliated to the Kerala Agricultural University. The Kerala Agricultural University is an autonomous public funded institution incorporated in the state. There about 40 educational institutions and research centers that function under this university.

The college offers a four-year undergraduate program in Dairy Science and Technology and a Bachelor’s in Veterinary Science. Ph.D. program is offered in Anatomy, Animal Breeding & Genetics, Animal Reproduction, Clinical Medicine, Dairy Science, Livestock Production Management, Nutrition, Microbiology, Pathology, Parasitology, Physiology, Pharmacology, Poultry Science and Surgery. Master’s in Veterinary Science is offered in all the above subjects. P.G. Diploma program is offered in the subjects of Meat Technology and Dairy Technology. Veterinary Council of India syllabus is being followed in this college from 1994 onwards.

The selection of candidates for undergraduate program is through State Entrance Examination (Medicine & Agriculture Courses). Fifteen percent of seats are reserved for out-of-state candidates on the basis of All India Entrance Examination and interview.

The college is at the forefront of research activities. The Centre for Advanced Studies in Animal Genetic s and Breeding conducts research on population and biometrical genetics, dairy cattle, goat, rabbit, pig and poultry genetics. The Department of Pathology conducts training programs for the benefit of field veterinary officers, disease investigations and rabies research. The Centre for Advanced Studies in Poultry Science conducts research on cross-bred and hybrid chicken. The institute also organizes various short duration training programs for farmers, officers of different Government Departments and NGOs.
