The Calicut University Institute of Engineering and Technology is located in Tenhipalam, Kerala. It was established in 2001-2002. It is managed by and affiliated to the University of Calicut. In order to govern the institute, a Governing Body has been constituted with special powers to supervise and monitor all its activities.
The Institute of Engineering and Technology offers five courses in B.Tech in the following disciplines: Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Printing Technology. The seats available are categorized as Government, Management seats and Lateral entry. Government seats are those for which the students are admitted by the Government through centralized allotment. Management seats are those for which the students are admitted by the University of Calicut on the basis rank list published by it. Admission through lateral entry is done to the second year of each course.
The college Central Library is housed in the campus and organized into various sections. The library has close to 12,000 books and journals. The college provides Internet facility to all students in the Central Computer Center. The hostel provides accommodation for all the students within the campus. Extensive play grounds and gymnasiums are provided.
Training programs are conducted for the final year students on Personality development and Communication skills. Campus recruitment programs are conducted and several top companies like L&T, Infotech, ICICI, US Software, IBS Technologies and NEST visit the campus regularly. The college provides training sessions by holding mock interviews and aptitude tests. Assistance is provided to students for industrial training programs.
