Amrita Institute of Technology & Science

The Amrita Institute of Technology and Science (AITEC) is located in Amritapuri, Kerala. It is affiliated to the University of Kerala and is approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).

The college is under the purview of the Amrita University, which is one of the fastest growing institutions of higher learning in South India. It was founded by Satguru Sri Mata Amritanandamayi Devi. Amrita School of Engineering was started in 2002 as "Amrita Institute of Technology & Science" with a vision to produce quality engineers. Initially it had only three branches: Computer Science, Electronics & Communication and Information Technology. Currently the school at campus offers B Tech in Mechanical Engineering and Electrical Engineering also.

For the students seeking post graduation, the school offers Master of Computer Applications (MCA). It also offers an MS (By Research) program. The college has a faculty strength of more than 100, including some faculty members who were earlier associated with various premier institutes in India and abroad. The school has adopted credit based course curricula.

The campus has many facilities for the students. Amritapuri Campus has a Center for Corporate Relations (CCR) to take care of student placement activities in the campus. CCR organizes events in the campus for students to participate, so that they learn valuable skills in communication, leadership, and teamwork. It also gives students exposure to workplace environment by inviting senior managers and executives from the industry. This helps students to clarify their career goals while in the campus itself.
