	Academy of Medical Sciences
Academy of Medical Sciences, Pariyaram is one of the new generation medical colleges in the southern Indian state of Kerala. The Academy includes a medical college and a super specialty hospital in the co-operative sector. The venture was under the leadership of M.V. Raghavan, the then minister for cooperation, Government of Kerala. The medical college is affiliated to Malabar University.

100 seats are offered this institution for MBBS courses. 50 of these seats are given on merit. Candidates with 50% marks in Biology and 50% marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology put together are eligible for admission. The science graduates with Physics, Chemistry, Zoology, Botany or Biochemistry are also eligible for admission to MBBS.  40 payment seats are available and 10 seats are reserved for NRIs. These seats are given upon paying a hefty sum of money.

Besides MBBS, other courses related to the medical field are also taught here. BDS course is taught for aspiring dentists, while Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy is also one of the options available. In addition, various paramedical courses are also available. Candidates who have passed D. Pharma are also eligible for admission to the Bachelor’s program in Pharmacy. BAMS and BHMS courses are also taught for teaching Ayurvedic Medicine and Homeopathic Medicine.

The institution provides a reservation of seats for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Children of Defense Personnel and other government nominees. The institute does not offer postgraduate courses. However, the government is in the process of developing infrastructure for the same.
