Nirma University is a deemed university located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Five institutes fall under the purview of Nirma University. These are the Institute of Technology, Institute of Management, Institute of Pharmacy, Institute of Diploma Studies and Institute of Science. The first two of these institutes are the most well-known. The university is an initiative of Nirma Education and Research Foundation (NERF).
Nirma Institute of Technology (NIT) a self financing institution, established in 1995 by the industrialist Dr. Karsanbhai K. Patel, Chairman of Nirma Group of Industries. The institute offers Bachelor’s level courses in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering and Information Technology. All programs are approved by AICTE & Government of Gujarat. The institute is affiliated to Gujarat University.
The Nirma Institute of Management was established in 1996 with a view to promote excellence in management education. The Institute currently offers the following programs: MBA (Full-Time and part time), MBA (Family Business and Entrepreneurship), Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.), Executive Diploma Programs in Management, and Executive Education Programs. Besides the regular recruiters like Infosys Technologies, Citigroup, Bajaj Auto, JP Morgan Chase and ICICI Group; companies like Accenture, IBM, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd., Cognizant Technology Solutions, and Wipro Technologies regularly visit the campus for recruitments.
The Institute of Pharmacy offers Master’s programs in Pharmaceutical Technology & Bio-pharmaceutics, Pharmaceutical Analysis and Pharmacognosy. The Institute of Science offers Post-graduate as well as Ph.D. programs. It was established in 2004. The Institute of Diploma Studies offers certificate and diploma courses. |
