HL College of Commerce (HLCC) is a premier institution in commerce education. It is located in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This college was the first college established by the Ahmedabad Education Society (AES) in 1936. AES runs institutions offering education right from Kindergarten to Post Graduation in all major disciplines. HLCC has made significant progress since its inception. Twice recipient of the Best College in the state Award, the college enjoys a national reputation and a recognizable image in certain foreign universities.
The college offers 3 year Bachelor’s programs in Commerce, Computer Applications and Business Administration. Master’s programs are also offered in these disciplines. In addition, Short Term Computer Diploma Courses are offered in Tally 5.4, Visual Basic, C++, Photoshop, Dream Weaver and Flash Animation. The HL centre for Professional Education offers one year, evening diploma courses in two subjects: Supply Chain & Logistics Management and International Business.
HLCC is famous for its innovative teaching methods and extra-curricular activities. Group work, discussions, simulations, case studies & assignments are used in the class from time to time. With a view to supplementing formal learning in the class, industrial visits, project work, workshops, interaction with experts from various areas and guided journal writing are planned by the college. Intellectual and cultural activities are organized, which aid in acquisition of knowledge and development of personality.
The college library has over 50,000 books. The college has a Course Advisory, Career Counseling and Placement Centre run by its Alumni. It offers placement assistance to students and invites companies to visit the campus. |
