Dhirubhai Ambani Institute of Information and Communication Technology (DAIICT) is located in Gandhinagar, Gujarat. It is named after the Gujarati entrepreneur and Reliance group founder Dhirubhai Ambani. It is run by the Dhirubhai Ambani Foundation and is promoted by Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group.
The institute offers a whole spectrum of education, research, and training programs in information and communication technology. These programs are offered at certificate, undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels. It caters to the learning needs of students and researchers, and continuing education requirements of working executives, practicing professionals, and government officials.
The institute launched the four-year undergraduate program in Information and Communication Technology (ICT) from the academic year 2001-02. Master’s program is also offered in ICT. Other postgraduate programs are Master of Science in Information Technology in Agriculture, Master of Science in Information Technology, and Ph.D.
Admissions to the undergraduate program are based on the result of All India Rank of All India Engineering Entrance Examination. The intake is 240 students, out of which 12 seats are offered to NRIs. Seats reserved for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe categories are 15% and 7.5% respectively.
The campus has state-of-the-art laboratories and workshops. The library has the latest books, journals and CD-ROMS on information and communication technology, management, humanities and social sciences. Catalogue of the holdings is available round the clock for online access on the campus network. Other amenities include a cafeteria, ATM, medical center, book store, telephone kiosks, recreation center, gym, and indoor and outdoor games facilities.
