The Vasavi College of Engineering is located in the city of Hyderabad. Founded in 1981, the college is a premier-league institution among the affiliates of Osmania University. The college owes its existence to the Vasavi Academy of Education. The academy was established in 1981 by Sri. Pendekanti Venkatasubbaiah. The Academy established various institutions in diverse disciplines.
The institution offers undergraduate programs in Civil Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electronics & Communications Engineering, Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering and Production Engineering. In addition, a 3 year postgraduate program in Computer Applications (MCA) is offered. Vasavi has also taken up several value-added courses like GIS, CAD/CAM, Digital Signal Processing, Embedded Systems, VLSI Design, J2EE, and Cisco Networking.
The college places special emphasis on practical training. Overall personality development also assumes an essential aspect of every course of study at this institute. The Counseling & Placement Centre provides personal and career-related support to its students. The central library has more than 7,000 titles. The college is a member of SONET, a Government sponsored "Society for Networking for Excellence in Technical Education". The role of this society is to arrange lectures delivered by eminent teachers on certain subjects. The college has a high-speed campus-wide network that provides the staff and students ready access to computing resources, services, software and applications. |
