Rangaraya Medical College is located in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh. It has a total intake of 150 students. It offers the undergraduate level MBBS course for medical students. In addition, it also offers various degree and diploma courses at the post graduate level.
The institution is affiliated with the Andhra University. The courses offered at the post graduate level include degree courses in Anesthesia, Dermatology, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pediatrics, Physiology, Preventive and Social Medicine, Anatomy, ENT, General Surgery, and Orthopedics. Diploma courses are offered in the subjects of Anesthesia, Clinical Pathology, Dermatology, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Ophthalmology, Public Health, and Chest & Tuberculosis. Paramedical diploma courses are offered in X-Ray Technology and Radiology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Audiology and Speech Therapy, and Clinical Child Development.
The college admits students based on the results of the state wide entrance test held every year. The institution is recognized by the NTR University of Health Sciences. Through this recognition, the college is also authorized to conduct BDS courses for aspiring dentists. The college has the entire necessary infrastructure for conducting these specialized courses. These include laboratories, libraries, seminar halls, and computer centers.
The candidates are eligible for the undergraduate courses after passing two years (10+2 pattern) or equivalent examination with Physics, Chemistry, Botany, Zoology and English. The institute offers reservations for candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes, and Backward Classes. For the latter, the pass percentage is 40 percent, compared to 50 percent for general category students.
