Katrina Kaif was born in Hong Kong to an English mother and an NRI father originally from Kashmir. She grew up in Hawaii and London, with her seven sisters. Graceful, attractive and angelic are the best adjectives that portray this beautiful lady. She started her career as a model in the print media in the advertising world before joining films. Katrina debuted in Kaizad Gustad's film Boom, in the role of a supermodel. Unfortunately the film bombed at the box office, but she bagged two Telugu movies - Malliswari (2004) and Allari Pidugu (2005). She has been the brand ambassador for many products like Veet, Lakme and Fevicol. Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar noticed her and thus she has appeared on the cover page of many prestigious magazines like Cosmopolitan. In 2005 she made a comeback in Hindi films with Maine Pyaar Kyun Kiya along with Salman Khan and Sushmita Sen and even acted veteran film maker Ram Gopal Varma's Sarkar. Katrina's recent film Humko Deewana Kar Gaye starring Akshay Kumar won her accolades for her performance in the film. She has signed on quite a few films like Anees Bazmee's Welcome and David Dhawan's Partner. She was also selected for the role of Radha in Ram Gopal Varma ke Sholay, but was later replaced with Sushmita Sen. In 2006, she forayed into Malayalam Cinema with the Mammootty starrer Balram v/s Tharadas. Her voice has been dubbed in all her movies till date. Balram versus Tardas, Sholay and Namaste London are much awaited movies. Katrina Kaif is famous for her impeccable sense of dressing. She mostly appears in short dresses which enhances her pretty doll-like image .She recently got embroiled in a controversy over wearing short skirts in a Muslim holy shrine during the filming of Namaste London, in which she stars opposite Akshay Kumar.

Katrina Kaif is at present romantically involved with Bollywood heartthrob Salman Khan and has stood by Salman through all his trials and travails. She visited him while he was jailed in his controversial blackbuck hunting case. They are expected to tie the know soon.
