Amrita Arora was born to a Malyali mother and a Punjabi
father. Her elder sister Malaika Arora is the wife of Salman Khan's brother
Arbaaz Khan. She has been rumored to have dated Kevin Otter, Upen Patel and
Ashmit Patel. At present, she is romancing the cricketer Usman Afzaal of
England team. She is close to Karishma Kapoor's sister Kareena Kapoor.
Amrita Arora started her career as a model. then she
went on to become a vee-jay with the popular music channel MTV, following
the footsteps of her glamorous sister. Her charming smile and sprightly eyes
gave her instant popularity. She still appears in ads once in a while, and
has worked in ads like Ponds, Sunsilk, Fruitmans, Elle 18, After Smoke etc.
Amrita Arora made her acting debut opposite Fardeen
Khan with the film Kitne Door Kitne Paas in 2002. The film bombed at the box
office. Even though her appearance in the movie was not noted by anyone, she
got many movie offers from then onwards. Her next film Awara Paagal Deewana
was successful. A string of duds followed, including the contentious
Girlfriend (2004) opposite Isha Koppikar, involving lesbian love. Her daring
performance created a buzz in the media. Her last release was Fight Club
produced by Arbaaz Khan's brother Sohail Khan.
