Aditi Gowitrikar hails from a very orthodox, Maharashtrian Brahmin family. However, she got married to a Muslim doctor, Dr. Muzaffal Lakdawala, whom she met at college. The couple married in 1998, after dating for seven years. Her daughter Kiara, was born in 1999. A qualified gynecologist, Aditi Govitrikar is a ramp-scorcher and her career as a model was set on track after she won the Gladrags contest in 1996. Her foremost modeling project came from Ponds. After that she went on to win the title of Mrs. World in the 2001 contest. She has appeared in several Hindi and South Indian-language films and has also done commercials with a number of major companies including Coca Cola. She has even acted in television serials like "Ye Meri Life Hai". She is thinking about acquiring a PG degree in cosmetology.
