This light eyed popular Bollywood actor was born on January 10, 1974 to Rakesh Roshan and Pinky Roshan. Rakesh Roshan was an actor before focusing his to direction. This turned out to be a good move for Rakesh as his films were quite successful. After seeing his father struggle to establish himself as an actor, Hrithik had qualms about taking up acting. He started out assisting his father during the making of Koyla.

Even though Hrithik came from a film background, he was an above average student at school. He received a degree in Economics and Commerce and was set to go abroad to study film production when he faced the facts that all he wanted to do was to be an actor. He enrolled himself into acting classes and started concentrating on his physique.

In 2000, Rakesh Roshan launched his son’s Bollywood career with Kaho Naa Pyar Hai, a love story. This film broke all records in the box office and launched Hrithik and his co-star of the film, Amisha Patel into a completely different plane. Hrithik won the Filmfare Best Actor Award and the Filmfare Best Debut Award for his film Kaho Naa Pyar Hai.

However, after this film, most of Hrithik’s other film flopped or did not do well at the box office. This debacle did not stop him from getting rave reviews for all his performances.

Rakesh Roshan decided to take matters into his hand and directed his son in Koi Mil Gaya which became an instant box office hit and won Hrithik the Filmfare Best Actor Award and the Filmfare Critics Award for Best Performance. This was followed by Lakshya in 2004. Though the film did not do too well, Hrithik received critical acclaim for his acting

After that Hrithik took a 2 year hiatus from acting before returning with the successful box office hit Krrish in 2006. This film was a sequel to the famous Koi Mil Gaya. Hrithik is now shooting for Dhoom 2 in which he plays a negative role for the first time in his acting career.

Hrithik is married to Suzanne Khan, his high school sweetheart who is also the daughter of Sanjay Khan, the Bollywood actor and director. Hrithik and Suzanne have a baby boy named Rayhaan who was born on March 28, 2006 in Mumbai.
