After completing his Diploma in Acting in Chennai, Chiranjeevi got an offer to act in ‘Punadi Rallu’in 1978, But the movie got delayed. Producer-director T Kranti Kumar, who had seen his photograph gave him a role in the film, ‘Pranam Khareedu’. Subsequently, director Bapu signed him for ‘Manavoori Pandavulu’, where he first gained some recognition. With 'Mana Voori Paandavulu' running for 100 days, Chiranjeevi found the top slot in the hearts of his fans. His success started after his quite acclaimed role in 'Initilo Ramayy a Vidhilo Krishnayya' (1981). Since then no looking back for him. Most of his memorable characters are that of rough guys.
