10 Ways To Boost Your Confidence
by Supanya Sosut (5/7/06)
Are you one of those persons who get really nervous on dates? Or just way too shy to even go on dates? Have very low self-esteem, you always think you’re not good enough for anyone? Don’t worry, it can be cured. Here’s 10 quick ways to improve your confidence.
-
Write a list of what you’re good at. Even the smallest things like cooking a good barbeque. Read it once a week or whenever you feel your self-esteem is dropping. Try to add something new to it. This reminds you that you have a lot going on for you.
-
Dress to impress (yourself). Notice that you feel better about yourself whenever you’re nicely dressed? You also feel a lot more confident. Keep your appearance up, wear clean, decent clothes that you’re comfortable in.
-
Don’t put anyone else above yourself. So when you meet someone, don’t think they’re better than you or the other way round. Don’t work too hard to impress someone and just be yourself.
-
Don’t compare yourself to others. You may look at someone and think they have something you don’t but truth is they may be thinking the same thing.
-
Learn to do things on your own. Don’t rely on others to make you happy or feel good.
-
Socialize with people who are positive and supportive, who like and respect you. At the same time, avoid negative and judgmental people.
-
Don’t be afraid of failures. Say to yourself that you will succeed next time and that you’re good enough.
-
Go on dates. Ask friends to hook you up if you find it hard to meet people. Don’t be afraid to go on dates. You will never know what can happen unless you go! And the more you date, the more confident you will be.
-
Set a goal and go after it. By going after your passion, you will feel good inside.
-
Brain wash yourself. This may sound silly but it actually works. Stand in front of the mirror daily and tell yourself you’re attractive.
