Looking for the One Quotes

Looking for the "ONE"? How about the "TWO" or "THREE"?

Sure we say that we were put on this Earth to find the one true love that were meant for us. But does a person exist?

We all have romanticized images of who our soulmates will be. I want a woman that has long dark hair, a smile that causes tremors up my spine, and a heart that beats in unison with mine. I want her to follow her passions with respect to her own career yet understand the importance of family and children. And the list goes on and on in as sappy a manner as it started.

I am obviously speaking in generality, there are many women that fit this bill. But there are more constraints we Indians put on ourselves to make the matchmaking process tough. I hear more about who I should NOT marry as opposed to who I should.

Typically, I have heard the following:

Don't marry:

  • a non-Indian
  • a non-Bengali
  • a girl from America
  • a girl from India
  • a girl that is older than you
  • a vegetarian
  • a girl that won't love your mommy
  • a girl that would leave you if you had no money
  • a chubby girl
  • a short/tall girl
  • a Muslim
  • a doctor/nurse/dentist (because they will be too busy to cook - lol)
  • a girl that is too traditional
  • a girl that is too westernized

But are all these things really that important? I live in America, is it really so bad if I ended up with someone from India? Or from America? I love to eat meat but would it be the end of the Earth if I ended up with a vegetarian?
