How to Turn a Friend into a Spouse

I am writing to the gentleman that wrote the article "Friendship Was Just a Consolation Prize" on your site.

My husband and I started out as friends so I kind of know where you are coming from.

You say you been giving hints to this woman but that is your problem man. Why don't you tell her straight up how you feel? Maybe she is sitting there unsure about your hints. I mean, what if she is liking you too but too afraid to tell you just like you are with her. Then you both never end up with each other.

Besides I think she likes you. If she is telling you who her ideal man is and it reminds you of you then there is a reason for it. She is giving her own hints. Girls will do that. I did.

What my husband, then just a friend, said innocently "sounds like me". I said "yes, you are a great guy". Well basically after that he asked if I would be interested in him, yadda yadda yadda we are now married. You should say the same thing and if she is not interested she would say something like "yes, but we're great friends" or 'yes, but you are like my brother", I know I would have.
